Author Bio
KATIE M HALL is a forty-something writer, researcher and filmmaker. Her debut novel, ‘To Autumn’ (Affinity Rainbow Press, 2025), was published earlier this year.
Katie’s poems and short stories have been shortlisted for several national UK writing awards. Her poetry is included in the upcoming Queer Life, Queer Love 3 (November 2025, Muswell Press), and the Arachne Press anthologies Byways (2024) and Tymes goe by turnes (2020). Her sapphic short stories feature in various lesbian and sapphic collections, such as L Is For… (2014) and LesFic Eclectic Volume 2 (2020).
She is currently completing her PhD thesis at Kingston University London, entitled Queer as Friends: a theoretical memoir charting unconventional friendships as feminist activism.
Katie was shortlisted for the Streetcake Experimental Writing prize (2021) and the Lichfield Cathedral The Word poetry prize (2019), and longlisted for the Ironclad Creative Writing Prize (2023) and second Primadonna Writing Prize (2020).
Katie is the creator and screenwriter of the first London LBQ web series, the award winning ‘She’s in London’, and producer of the award-winning queer indie feature film Under the Influencer (2024).
She is co-founder and former editor-in-chief of the Planet London family of websites and contributed hundreds of articles for the LBQ community including book & film reviews, celebrity interviews, opinion pieces and features between 2011 and 2015 as Editor-in-Chief. Her writing can also be found in many issues of Diva Magazine.
A poet since the age of 5, creative writing cup winner at high school, writing is all she ever wanted to do.
